Vanderbilt Awaits Test from Tide - Jeff Lockridge, Tennessean

Couple Notes from Bobby:
- Alabama isn't deep. They really only play 7.
- Alabama isn't big (tallest starter is 6'8), but "their bread is buttered" in the paint (53.7% of their points scored have been inside the lane)
- Alabama is a very good defensive team. They've held 19 of their 22 opponents below their season average in points and field goal percentage. They've held every SEC opponent below their average point total, FG%, and 3pt%.
- Alabama is a quick-staring team. They are out-scoring their opponents by an average of 5.1 points in the first 4 minutes of each half. Conversely, they have been out-scored by an average of .2 points in the last 8 minutes of each half.
- 70 Points or more: The Crimson Tide are 0-3 when their opponents score 70 points or more.
- Winning the 1st Half: Alabama is 0-4 when trailing or finishing tied at intermission.
- Free Throws: Alabama is 7-1 when they attempt more free throws than their opponent. They are just 8-6 when attempting less, or as many free throws as their opponents.
- Turnovers: Alabama is just 2-6 when committing more turnovers than their opponent, but 13-1 when committing less.
- 40% from the Field: Alabama is 1-5 when their opponents eclipse the 40% mark from the field. The Tide are 0-2 when they shoot worse than 40%

If you're headed to the game, make sure to leave extra time as the roads here in Music City aren't in great shape after yesterday's snow. For anyone on the fence, we'll need a big effort from the fans to help the Commodores pull out this CRITICAL game for Vanderbilt.

Prediction:

Vanderbilt 71 - Alabama 63

I'll be very interested to see how much time Walker sees tonight, if any. Ideally, he'll get a few minutes under his belt, but CKS won't have to push him beyond what his progression warrants. Having him back down the stretch is going to be key - especially on the road.
