This is going to be a quick one since I've got to make some movies today. I promise we'll have my interview with the Guru and our new Podcast up this week. In the meantime, I hope these articles will satisfy your Vanderbilt appetite.
Mo Patton's piece in today's Tennessean writes about Jermaine Doster and how Vanderblit's treatment of his late brother and their family after Kwane's tradegic death over winter break in 2004.
The Man we love to Hait's article in the Nashville City Paper focuses on the battle for the starting stop at Right Guard. While senior Merritt Kirchoffer opened camp as the starter, sophomore Bradley Vierling's play has made it an open competition, with Vierling taking the majority of snaps with the first string in Friday and Saturday's scrimiages.
Want to get to know Crocodile OG? Here's your chance. The incoming Vanderbilt freshman was interviewed by Rodger Bohn on DraftExpress.com.
David Price has just 3 days left until his rights no longer belong to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. According to an article in the St. Petersburg Times by Marc Topkin, Price is demanding money beyond what Major League Baseball recommends for signing 1st Round draft picks. TBO Sports has a variation of the Price theme that's also worth a read.
Short but sweet one this morning. But don't worry, we'll have more up this week.

So there seems to be a lot of interest in Ogilvy from pro scouts. What do you guys think the chances are of him being one and done?
thats so premature its not even funny......is he projected to be better than Bogut? Because Bogut took along time to develop (i think he played at least till his junior year)....for him to be one and done he would have to be a lottery pick which means he would have to avg 15 and 10 and dominate on defense. I think 10-12 and 8 boards a game is alot more realistic.
I'll take the line Douglas James considers "realistic" for a true freshman playing in the SEC. With that said, I think the likelihood of Ogilvy playing one year and going pro are slim. It does just go to show you how much of a premium is placed on quality big men.
Kevin Durant is, according to most experts, the most dynamic player to come out of college in years. Still, Greg Oden gets selected first overall. That's not to say that I think the Blazers made a mistake (I don't, I think they made the right pick), but it does go to show you people go ga-ga quickly whenever someone over 6'10 shows an inkling of athleticism.
