Bracketology Update, an SI Sleeper, and Rankin' the Commies...

Joe Lunardi posted his updated Bracketology and its not good for Vanderbilt. After Saturday's poor performance at home, Lunardi now has Vanderbilt seeded 8th and facing Michigan State in the first round. This seeding is bad for several reasons: 1, Drew Neitzel scares me; 2, even if you beat Michigan State in the first round, you are looking at a second round match-up against UCLA. Lunardi is right, the Commies have not been sharp since beating Florida at home. With that said, the SEC Tournament is just the place to get their swagger back. While I am sure Vanderbilt's seeding will fluctuate somewhat this week, Saturday's loss put us behind the 8-ball as far as seeding goes.

Now for some good news. SI.Com's Cory McCartney has made Vanderbilt his sleeper in the SEC Tournament. They certainly have the draw to do it.

The rankings have not been posted, when they are, where do you think the Commies will be?

I have Vandy dropping out of the Coaches and falling to 24 in the AP.

UPDATE: Vanderbilt did not crack the top-25 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll
