Jenkins Makes USA Basketball Team

Our own John Jenkins has survived a highly competitive tryout process and been selected to represent the United States as a member of the USA Basketball team that will compete at the World University Games in China next week.  This is a unique offseason opportunity for JJ to play with some of the best collegiate players in America, against international competition, under the tutelage of some quality coaches: Purdue's Matt Painter, UT's Cuonzo Martin, and Butler's Brad Stephens.  Congrats and safe travels from VSL Nation.

Here's the rest of the 12-man roster.  Not too shabby:
  • Tim Abromaitis (Notre Dame / Unionville, Conn.)
  • Marcus Denmon (Missouri / Kansas City, Mo.)
  • Ashton Gibbs (Pittsburgh / Scotch Plains, N.J.)
  • Draymond Green (Michigan State / Saginaw, Mich.)
  • JaMychal Green (Alabama / Montgomery, Ala.)
  • Scoop Jardine (Syracuse / Philadelphia, Pa.)
  • Orlando Johnson (UC Santa Barbara / Seaside, Calif.)
  • Greg Mangano (Yale / Orange, Conn.)
  • Trevor Mbakwe (Minnesota / St. Paul, Minn.)
  • Ray McCallum (Detroit Mercy / Beverly Hills, Mich.)
  • Darius Miller (Kentucky / Maysville, Ky.)
