Commodores Eliminated by FSU 7-6: Omaha Drought Continues

The Commodores had a very good season and showed the kind of heart you need to be successful throughout this tournament. But it wasn't enough. The Commodores lost 7-6 after putting the tying run aboard after giving up 3 insurance runs in the top of the 8th, allowing FSU to extend their lead from 4-3 to 7-3. While the Commodores refused to go quietly, Commodore fans will no doubt be questioning the decision to take so many pitches.

Vanderbilt's 3 outs in the 9th were strikeouts, all of which came on 0-2 counts where the Commodores swung at bad pitches outside of the zone. You want to take the first pitch, I get it (maybe). But the second strikes they looked at were way better than the junk they swung at 0-2.

We'll have more coverage in the hours and days to come. To all those who joined the live-blog, thanks for coming out. Rest assured, just because baseball season is over does not mean we won't continue to be your source for Commodore sports.
