The Commodores were able to keep the streak alive, being the 4th higher ranked seed to knock off their opponents in Day 1 of the SEC Tournament. Sonny Gray threw 7 scoreless innings to lead Vanderbilt to a 2-0 win over Arkansas.
For Commodore fans, with the exception of the dormant bats, they have to feel great about where they are in the tournament. They are the highest seeded team in the winner's bracket, playing against a team they pretty-well handled on the road a few weeks ago, with a chance to earn a day off Friday. The Commodores are the late game tomorrow and will have to hope they can find a way to eek out another win, a win that would place them firmly in the driver's seat, and start anew the discussion about Nashville hosting an NCAA Regional

Great win!! Clutch pitching, just enough hitting, no fielding errors...a true team win.
