Baseball Team Climbing in Polls

After the weekend sweep of Kentucky, Vanderbilt baseball notched up from #20 to #17 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25. The Commodores also moved from #24 to #20 in the Baseball America poll.

Vandy defeated Wofford 7-2 yesterday on the back of Andrew Giobbi's 4-4, 1 HR, 4 RBI outing and a pieced-together pitching effort from Reid, Williams, Selman and Garvin. For those keeping score at home, Giobbi is now batting .340 and has gone 8-9, 1 HR, 3 2B, 6 RBI over the last two games. That is nasty. The Commies return to the diamond against Wofford today looking to continue their six-game winning streak.

Vanderbilt's upcoming weekend series on the road against #8/11 Florida will be a huge test. The Gators are coming off a tough series loss to Ole Miss and, like the Dores, are looking to make a statement.
