Recruiting Update

Hey so Vandysports.com is reporting that Montgomery Bell's Fitz Lassing has committed to Vandy (he is the only Tenn kid expected to sign w/ the team). Basically CBJ and his staff had been trying to figure out for a while whether they could offer him. He apparently really wanted to play for Vandy so it was a pure numbers game. He is a 2-star recruit according to Rivals and is currently un-rated by ESPN.com. Lassing stands at 6'3, 225 and although he is listed as a linebacker on both recruiting services websites he has apparently excelled at punter, running back and even QB (Wildcat formation) for MBA this year. Oh and this kid appears to be smart as all hell (35 on his ACT and 1590 on his SAT). Basically he seems like everything Vanderbilt should strive to be. Ugh I hate it when 18 year old kids make me feel bad about myself. Hahaha.
That's it from here. Really excited to see what other crazy shenanigans pop up over the next 24 hours. Later.

Do you think they signed him to be our punter, at least as a stop-gap, until we sign someone better and Lassing's ready to be a linebacker for us?

Almost makes up for recruiting a kid with a total SAT of 850.

Carey Spear (kicking specialist) will be the kicker of this class not Fitz.

Just to clarify the people at Vandysports.com (Rivals) which is where Anonymous got Bennett's ACT/SAT scores, claim that those are old scores and that there are absolutely no issues with him being admitted to the school. So whatever "Anonymous" is pissed about it just forget about it.

Apparently, Spears is not a good punter yet (this according to the interview on Rivals upon his commitment to Vandy). And kickers are often very bad punters.
