Read VUCommodores.com for the full release. Ted Cain will continue to coach the tight ends, and will become Special Teams Coordinator. According to the release: "The promotion of Kiser, who formerly served as the team's quarterback coach and co-passing game coordinator, is the key element in an reassignment of duties that affects four offensive coaches following the unit's disappointing performance last year."
I would only note that last season Kiser was responsible for the play-calling. More from Bobby: "I've been pleased with Jimmy's play calling. I now want to give him the responsibility to take charge of the process of determining what plays will be called in all situations. I also feel the quarterback needs to be comfortable with and capable of executing the call. In our offense, the quarterbacks coach would know that better than anyone." Pleased with the play-calling? Really?
Some might say this is nothing more than reorganizing the deck chairs on the Titanic.

No offense to Jimmy but my two biggest disappointments with the team last year were at the QB position and the terrible play calling (anyone seen Vandy run the reverse or double reverse for a loss?). Team has talent, especially in the RB position so I will give Jimmy a chance, but can't say I have high hopes.
This doesn't seem very significant to me. I for one didnt even know Ted Cain didn't call his own plays. Exactly what did he do as Offensive Coordinator then? CBJ seems to be loyal to a fault. I really hope this means some changes but I don't expect much.
Hi everybody! I do not know where to begin but hope this site will be useful for me.
Hope to get any assistance from you if I will have any quesitons.
Thanks and good luck everyone! ;)
Just bought my season tickets today. With that schedule, this team will be lucky to get 3 wins.
at first i saw offensive coordinator changes and ted cain being demoted. i was happy. very happy.....
then i learn kiser was calling the plays any way and is now the coordinator....
bobby should've cleaned house there.
speaking of bobby, why is he getting these incredible applauses at memorial when they show him on the screen? he had a horrible season when we thought at the beginning we were bowl bound again. this team was SUPPOSED to be better than last year's right?
i'd agree with the assessment that we win 2 or 3 games again.
Doesn't matter how many games any disappointed Vandy fan thinks we'll win next year. We were supposed to win one or two games in 2008 and we had a winning season. It's good and proper for a Vandy fan to feel despair, but I prefer to wait until the season when, for example, we lose to Army.
I think the applause for Bobby has more to do with the recent signing of the best class in Vanderbilt history than it does with last season's record.
The applause was because they thought it was Steve Martin.
