Should the Coaches Poll be Public?

Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples thinks coaches top-25 ballots should be public record. He's so adamant about it, that he's investigating legal options to actually compel their release. Staples and SI will seek the release of these ballots from the 51 public university coaches who are subjected to their state's Freedom of Information Act. I have long said that I don't think the coaches should get a vote at all since there is no way they can make an informed decision about the teams; after all, coaches are coaching on Saturdays, not watching the teams they are voting on.

What do you think?
