Minor Signs, Basketball Team Headed Down Under

Preseason practice opens in just 2 days, which means we'll probably be talking all football all the time soon. Still, there is non-football Commodore news worth reporting. First, Mike Minor signed yesterday with the Atlanta Braves according to a story in today's Tennessean by Mo Patton. Mike's 2.42 million dollar bonus is the largest bonus awarded to a Braves draftee and the largest bonus ever given to a No. 7 pick. Minor will join the Braves "A" affilliate in Rome, Georgia today.

David Boclair reports in today's Nashville City Paper that the Men's Basketball Team is headed to Australia to play in five exhibition games starting next week. The trip down under is a home-coming from A.J. Ogilvy.

Finally, Boclair also reports in the City Paper piece that Andre Walker (my bad) received a medical redshirt from the NCAA after suffering a season ending knee injury in just the 3rd game of the season. Walker now has 3 years of eligibility.

Defensive Preview will be posted tomorrow.

Andre Walker. Thanks for the update, he's a vital part of our team not falling apart whenever Beal goes to the bench.

Good thing Andre Miller only played two seasons at Utah and has some eligibility left. I kid. That's big for us, and makes our sophomore class ginormous and talented.
