VSL Hotline: It's Almost the Weekend, Edition

This should be enough for the final push.

The Man We Love to Hait's got a story on Shan Foster in today's Nashville City Paper. According to Brett, "Opinions vary on Foster's NBA readiness." John Reid wrote in Wednesday's Times-Picayune that Shan was "impressive in workout." NBADraft.net does not currently have the Truf slotted to go in either rounds 1 or 2.

Keegan Bell (a.k.a. Mr. And 1) expects a more "wide open game" at UTC according to Wednesday's Huntsville Times. Calling Vanderbilt's style "robotic," Brett Hait opts to not fight fair by citing statistics and actual productivity in Nashville Ballerz by pointing out that: "despite Vanderbilt’s “oppressive style” of play, it finished second in scoring in the SEC during the 2007-08 season by averaging 80 points per game. VU also attempted the second most 3-point shots in the league." Hait goes on to write that "Bell had plenty of chances to play last season, but careless turnovers, poor defense and a 32.3 shooting percentage limited his playing time as the season went on. VU coach Kevin Stallings is trying to win basketball games, not a popularity contest."

Check out "Previewing the East" in this year's Cape Code League, featuring Vanderbilt players Caleb Cotham (Brewster Whitecaps) in this Cape Cod Times by Paul Godfrey.

Vanderbilt Bowler Josie Earnest has been voted National Player of the Year, congratulations Josie.

Have a great weekend.

Bobby, OUT.
