Bad News from the MLB Draft

Brett Hait is reporting in today's Nashville City Paper that SS Anthony Hewitt, a prized recruit in this year's class, will likely sign with the Phillies. Philadelphia drafted Hewitt, who recently graduated from the Salsibury School in Connecticut, was selected #24 overall.

Sonny Gray, another Vanderbilt recruit who urged teams not to take him, was selected in the 26th round by the Cubs (802nd pick overall). David Boclair had the piece in Saturday's Tennessean. Gray is expected to matriculate to Vanderbilt in the fall.
