Joe Lunardi is a Joker

In his infinite wisdom, Lunardi says this about the 'Dores:

"In terms of our metrics, Vanderbilt may be the most overrated team in the field. Siena can score with the Commodores and has every opportunity for the biggest upset of the first round. I'm going with the Saints, 80-76."

Discuss. Fume. Berate. Deride.

Seamus...weeks ago I posted that the selection committee remembers all the heat they got for seeding VU #5 last year...only to be vindicated by the team's play. That's why we got a #4 seed this year: The committee saw VU's defensive intensity in the massive Kentucky blowout and in the vomit orange takedown in the 'ville.

Lunardi molests collies. Don't worry about him.

People love to doubt us. I admit we have been inconsistent. If anything hopefully this will get back to the team and they can play with a chip on their shoulder. We need intensity from everyone, everygame, all game. Especially the X-factor that is Ross Neltner. When he shuts down opponents on defense and is effective offensively everything else seems to fall into place.

well, we were a 6 seed last year but that's not the point. seriously, screw every analyst out there. we never get respect. ever. we didn't get it last year, and we didn't get it when freije took 'em to the sweet 16. step it up dores.

If you watch his video previews he predicts 3 different things 1) first team to 90 wins 2)then picks Sienna 85-80 3)in his 64 team countdown he says they win 80-76......so which one is it Joey? I have a feeling we blow them out of the water....like 95-69

He's not the only one. Grant Wahl and Luke Winn at SI are also picking Siena. And Ken Pomeroy of Basketball Prospectus. And of course Seth Davis. It's ridiculous.

Parrish from CBSsports.com:

"7:20 ET: Siena over Vanderbilt seems to be the sexy pick of an example where a No. 13 seed can beat a No. 4 seed. This is based on Siena's win over Stanford. That's all anybody remembers. Me? I remember Siena losing to Memphis by 44. So you be sexy and I'll take Vandy."

We always play best when we know that everything's at stake: i.e. Kentucky, Tennessee, last year's Washington State.

I can just picture Red Gordon's eyes popping out of his head as he reads all the trash talking against us, and then pounding his chest over and over again and getting everything psyched out of their minds by the start of the game.

Bring on Siena. Let's make it ugly and drop a C-note on the Saints.

It was more like a C-YA Note dont ya think. Siena whooped on y'all pretty good.
