If Shan Foster Drops 42 on Senior Night, and No One Sees It on Television...Did it Really Happen?

YES IT DID.

UPDATE: Video highlights from Memorial

Joe Fisher said it best, "If Shan Foster isn't Player of the Year then I don't know why."

That's what seniors do, they take games over. Shan hit his last 9, count'em 9, three pointers to lift the Commodores. Quite a Senior Night for the Truf. If there's been a better performance by a Commodore at Memorial, then I'm unaware of it.

VSL favorite, the Man We Love to Hait made quick work of this one and already has an article on the Nashville City Paper recaping tonight's game.

It serves Raycom right for this game to be an absolute classic (and Uncle O'Shea who was in Nashville, with tickets in hand...hope that nap was worth it). One request for the Vanderbilt athletic hierarchy. Make the video of this game available for fans to buy, even if it's just the view from the jumbotron with Joe Fisher's call dubbed in. That's a product Vanderbilt fans would be privileged to own. With that in mind, it's time for Vanderbilt to accept that the program is at a place where every big win should not be accompanied by a celebratory t-shirt. I was as happy as the next guy that we beat UT while they were #1 (just ask everyone who came in contact with me in the days thereafter). But act like you been there, guys. Don't make a lame t-shirt. (Rant over).

Are you excited about tonight's game? Are you eager to do something for the Commodores? Now's your chance as the VSL is teaming up with the National Commodore Club. Whether by endowing a scholarship or by making a contribution to the National Commodore Club’s annual fund you can play a part in securing the future of our athletics programs. For most of VSL Nation, the 2020 Society is the way to go. The 2020 Society is anyone under the age of 40 who contributes at least $100 to the NCC. You can see all the benefits of membership by clicking here.

As our friend Cal Cook at the NCC wrote:
Don’t let our recent success be short-lived. Help us maintain our momentum and build upon our accomplishments. Together we can take that all-important next step and elevate Vanderbilt Athletics to new heights. It is clear that our student-athletes are among the best in the country. With your help, we can continue this tradition. The NCC logo on the top right is the fastest, easiest way to contribute. Please join us in building the Vanderbilt Athletics program.

We'll be talking more about the NCC in the days to come, in the meantime, if you've got any questions, email our man Cal Cook at the National Commodore Club.

Sound of VSL Nation. Great win. With a win on Saturday and some help from the Gators against Kentucky, Vanderbilt's still got a shot to get a 1st Round bye in next week's SEC Tournament

wow. two oops to foster for the dunk. last 9 3's all good. 42 points. senior night. emotional. overtime. and a 3 to win the game in OT.

AND NO HIGHLIGHTS ON ESPN'S TOP 10!?!?!? WTF.

Unfotunately, they didn't want to put the grainy, floor-level footage on ESPN's Top Ten.

I don't understand, was it on CSTV or something? The highlights were weird; it was like the game that time forgot.

Regradless, Foster's sick and the deserved SEC POY.

Sweet blog, BTW.

OK, nevermind. So it was on nothing. That's ridiculous. Isn't this what ESPNU is for?

Also, what the hell happened to your girlfriend's favorite guy, bobby? 0-10 from the field? Yuck.

It's not that serious

Following along on the internet I got quite disgusted when we were down 4 with 30 seconds to go and closed my computer. I refused to watch espn or even any other college bball game going on for the rest of the night. What an amazing surprise to wake up to a ton of texts alerting me that we in fact won the game!!!

While i must agree with the T-shirt rant. I do quite enjoy the plastic cups made in the wake of big wins. A man can never have to many plastic cups to pour sweet bourbon into.

Rob (MS): How impressive was Shan Foster last night?

Andy Katz: (12:10 PM ET ) Very. He's the SEC player of the year. That's back-to-back POY for Vandy. Quite impressive.

Jason (Boston, MA): Andy, why does Joe Lunardi molest collies?

Andy Katz: (1:29 PM ET): Not sure, but this obsession certainly clouds his vision when seeding Nashville-based college basketball teams.

As a Bulldog fan, I must give a lot of credit to Foster....to step up like that on Senior Night, after starting 0-6 from 3-point land is unprecedented.

On the other hand, as a Bulldog fan, I must also credit Mississippi State's free-throw shooting with a hand in the Vandy win.
