What a night....

Yankees/Sox, American Idol finale, and Lost...what could be better? Well, it would have been better had Vanderbilt been able to get their bats going before the 8th inning. Despite falling behind 5-0, Vanderbilt was able to close the lead to 6-4 after Pedro Alvarez went yard to center in the 9th. Alas, Shea Robin flied out to left with Ryan Flaherty on first (who extended his hit streak to 25) to end the game. Losing to UT hurts, but the fact that Vanderbilt now faces an elimination game so soon in the tournament is decidedly worse. The fact that Vanderbilt, assuming they win tomorrow, will have to play 5 days straight (or until they lose), in order to win the tournament, certainly adds insult to injury.

The Commies will face the loser of Ole Miss/Mississippi State tomorrow at 2 eastern. Vanderbilt can take solace in the fact that Vanderbilt ace David Price will pitch in tomorrow's must win game. Vanderbilt took 2 of 3 from Ole Miss in Nashville, but hasn't faced Mississippi State yet this season.

american idol final - WOO-HOO!!!!

quote from the most recent Cindy Sheehan blog:

"Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months."

Looks like she pretty much pegged it...of course there are people who can tell you everything about the dead/missing Aruba girl from Alabama starting with the mascot at the high school she attended to jar and jug tweety's favorite whatever. They just wouldn't be able to point to Iraq or Korea on a map.

People pretty much suck anymore and american idol makes many of them suck even worse.

It's time for that glorified karaoke contest to just go away.
