Vanderbilt Hotline: Have at it...

Because there really isn't that much to talk about in the world of Vanderbilt Sports. Vanderbilt travels to Athens for a 3 game set with the Bulldogs this weekend, of which Sunday's game will be on TV hopefully in the DC area or I really will be unable to justify the premium sports package I "had to have." Bobby and Kevin are taking their show on the road for the National Commodore Club, with CBJ and CKS traveling to Clarksville on May 8th and in Memphis on the 10th. The NCC's fiscal year ends May 31st, so if you want to contribute (and we really hope you will) click on the NCC icon on the right hand side of your page or click here. Finally, the DC Dores have their second softball game of the year tonight near the National Mall against Marquette, Bobby will be there, will you?

Dr. MZ had the bottom two correct last night on Idol. I was a little sad to see Phil go. His departure makes me wonder, can it safely be said that American Idol views hate the troops because they voted off a guy who is/was in the navy? Just something to think about. Chris Richardson is done, and that is fantastic. The Idol final four is just as I predicted, and while I find this foursome less interesting than last year's (Elliot, Chris Daughtry, McPhee, and Taylor Hicks), they are all very good. I am pulling for Melinda, if this puzzles you, remember, I am a Yankees fan. Speaking of the Yankees, the firing of their strength and conditioning coach was front page news at the paper of record, the New York Times. If you are wondering what this has to do with Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt grad Tyler Kepner wrote the article (and it's my post, so I can talk about what I want to).

Finally, a shout out to Rome-clone Boyer in the District on turning 25. Happy Birthday, now you can rent a car.

I would argue that there is more talent in this year's IDOL top 4 than last year's.

Eliot Yamin was a lepper.

Taylor Hicks (even though I liked him) was no better than anything you could hear on Friday or Saturday night at Saloon.

Katherine McPhee was unbearably vanilla.

And Chris Daughtry (even though he could sing rather well) was a massive d-bag.

I'll take this year's final four over last year's any day of the week.

And that's truth.

DOC is beyond right. I think the best American Idol final four was season 4. With Underwood beating out Bo Bice for the crown.

Mad props to Carrie Underwood and Katherine McPhee for teaching all of the impressionable young girls out there that eating disorders are an important part of becoming famous.
