Breaking News: Johnathan Massey Dismissed from Football Team...

One of the most highly touted recruits of Coach Bobby's era was dismissed yesterday from the football team for violating undisclosed team rules. Call to the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Student Athletics, Recreation and Wellness and Coach Bobby were not immediately returned.
Massey, a red-shirt freshman, was playing both fullback and tight end for the Commies, and had the potential to be an impact player for the team in the years to come. This announcement came on the heals of the SEC denying Senior Offensive Tackle Brain Stamper's appeal for a 5th year of eligibility after missing 6 games due to a back injury. Vanderbilt is now appealing directly to the NCAA, and will await the verdict of the wise men in Indy. Stamper was a four-year starter at right tackle and started 36 consecutive games before being injured. He was a preseason all-SEC pick this year and was considered the Commodores’ top offensive lineman.

Tommy,
Thanks for reading the blog. As this is a story about Vanderbilt sports, this information did, in fact, receive coverage from the website you mentioned. It also appeared in a wire story and in various media outlets throughout the Middle Tennessee region.
