Vandy Beats Florida 77-67

I don't know about y'all Commodore fans, but considering the troubles we've had with Florida this win is incredibly sweet to me. A huge victory on so many levels. Vandy travels to Tennessee on Saturday, Florida hosts Kentucky. A Vandy win and a Florida loss locks Vandy as the #2 seed in the SEC tournament. Pending the results of Wednesday night, the pressure may all be on Florida. The Dores have already clinched a first-round bye.

Great stuff to overcome some of the troubles we had. Largely via the 3 and free throw shooting down the stretch.

We'd win the tiebreaker with Florida in terms of SEC tournament seeding?

Vanderbilt finished the game 19-21 from the free throw line. Florida ended the game 3-17 from the field.

I thought the switch to zone was a good move, as was the 4-guard set with Kedren, Brad, Jeffery, and Jenkins.

If Vanderbilt wins on Saturday, even if Florida beat Kentucky, we would win the tiebreaker thanks to Florida losing twice to Tennessee.

Actually, I take that back. We need Kentucky to beat Florida on Saturday to lock the 2-seed.

Vanderbilt hit more 3s (6) than 2s in the second half

We definitely need a Florida loss to Kentucky to clinch the #2 seed. Beyond that, we just need a Tennessee loss to LSU (or us) to clinch. We'd beat Florida in a 2-team tiebreaker by virtue of our better record against Tennessee. We'd beat both Alabama and Florida in a 3-team tiebreaker by virtue of our better records against Alabama and Tennessee, respectively. We'd clinch the #3 seed in a 3-team tiebreaker with Tennessee and Florida by virtue of Tennessee's better record against Florida. I believe that the same thing happens in a 4-team tiebreaker with Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. Regardless, the bottom line is beat UT, and let the rest sort itself out.
