Casey Hayward is Awesome

And the head coaches and SIDs of all 120 FBS schools that vote for the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America team know it.

It was announced earlier today that Hayward -- who grabbed 5 INTs, forced a fumble, had 14 passes defended, and made 40 solo tackles (including 6.5 TFLs) this season --  has been named second-team All-American, becoming Vanderbilt's first All-America honoree since D.J. Moore in 2008.  Hayward making the prestigious list is all the more impressive given the talent among SEC DBs this year, including the likes of Tyrann Mathieu, Morris Claiborne, Bacarri Rambo and Mark Barron.

Hayward, Chris Marve, Zac Stacy and Tim Fugger are the four Commodores who received All-SEC recognition earlier this week.  Congrats to all our guys, and hey, how 'bout a quick timeout from the CJF love-fest to give props to ole Bobby Johnson for recruiting them.

Happy Friday VSL Nation.

Congrats to Casey and all of the VU Football team and coaches! Vandy fans should be proud!

Knoxville radio sports-talk-show hosts are still not giving the Commodores any respect. I heard them say that "Cincinnati will have no trouble handling Vanderbilt" in the Liberty Bowl.

I cannot wait to be there New Year's Eve at the Liberty Bowl to see see these pundits proven wrong!

You'd think Knoxville pundits would remember their precious Vols -- who aren't even going to a bowl game -- doubling up Cincinnati early in the season. But what do I know (or care).
