Vanderbilt Dominates Kentucky; Back to .500 And Looking for More

The final score was 38-8. But it wasn't that close. Zac Stacy was fantastic, gaining 138 yards and 3 touchdowns on 28 carries. Jordan Rodgers continued to make plans, going 12-22 for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns, and gaining 50 yards on 12 rushes. The real playmaker on offense was Jordan Matthews, who hauled in 6 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown.

The Commodores dominated time of possession, holding onto the ball for almost 39 minutes of the 60 minute contest. Vanderbilt was 10 of 18 on 3rd down, while stoppping the Wildcats on each of their 18 3rd downs.

Vanderbilt is 5-5 with games at Tennessee and Wake Forest to finish up. I said before this season began that I would consider 4 wins a successful inagural campaign for Coach Franklin and his staff. They've got 5 with 2 to play, and Commodore fans have reason to hold the last week of December and the first few days on January open.

Franklin for SEC coach of the year. This season has been amazing considering the shape our football program was in a year ago, both on the field and in recruiting. Getting the commit from Jelks today is awesome - he had offers from UT and Alabama. Franklin is now out-recruiting Dooley in-state.
