Chick-Fil-A Bowl Selection Blog: Vanderbilt in Play

Here's the ink the Commodores are getting from the Chick-Fil-A Selection Blog about their chances of playing in Atlanta on New Year's Eve:
Vanderbilt: A huge win against Kentucky gets the Commodores to 5-5 with winnable games against Tennessee and Wake Forest still on the schedule. We’ll add Vandy to the short list this week, but they MUST win out and get to 7-5 to have a real chance to get to our game. And with Florida holding the head-to-head advantage over them, they may need to get some help as well. Vanderbilt is on the radar, but we’ll take it week to week from here.

Just as well...we've been there, when it was the Peach Bowl, and our all-everything young coach fled the coop for the team we played (and TIED) in the bowl!

(The Steve Sloan Experience is why I'm ready to long-term CJF after only ten games...)

That would be fantastic if the 'Dores get it. Good chance they could see the Hokies in that one.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Even if Florida didn't own the head-to-head, which they do, how many of us really think Chick-Fil-A is going to choose Vanderbilt over Florida? Godfather, don't tease me about a Hokie-Commie meeting in the ATL.

All Vandy fans need to read this before the dores win Saturday. It will make the victory feel even better.
