Tonight the aces will face off, Sonny Gray (10-3, 2.12 ERA) for Vanderbilt vs. RHP Matt Hamann (9-1, 2.22 ERA). Vanderbilt won the only meeting between these teams 6-2 to open the season at Hawkins. Grayson Garvin is expected to throw tomorrow against either Oklahoma State or Troy State.
Some things to keep in mind, Vanderbilt is:

- 10-7 when opponents score first
- 4-1 when tied after 6 and 8 innings
- 3-1 when tied after 7 innings
- 4-4 when trailing after 6 innings; 4-6 when trailing after 7; 1-8 when trailing after 8
Belmont is:
- 13-11 on the road
- 27-8 when scoring first
- 9-16 when opponents score first
- 7-21 when trailing after 7
- 6-21 when trailing after 8
