Other notable nuggets from the win:
- Connor Harrell went yard again, blasting a 3-run shot in the 2nd. He is the first payer to hit 2 home runs in the same College World Series in TD Ameritrade Park
- Aaron Westlake got his first hit of the CWS with a single in the 7th inning. He is 1-11 and has been hit by 2 pitches in Omaha.
- The Commodore bullpen has not allowed a run in 9 1/3 innings pitched.
The Commodores will face a Gator team that has bested them in 4 of their 5 meetings this season Friday at 1pm on ESPN. Commodore ace Sonny Gray is likely to take the hill as Vanderbilt tries to stave off elimination.

Since this is Vandy's first time in the CWS, its fans can be forgiven for not having a solid grasp of the format (especially when coupled with ESPN's abysmal coverage of an event they are, in fact, covering).
Is the CWS double elimination throughout? In other words, must Vandy beat UF twice (in a row, now) to make it to the finals? And then the finals would be a brand new best-of-three set?

You are forgiven. The CWS is double-elimination in the brackets and then best 2 out of 3 in the championship series (which I guess could be called double elimination, as well). Once a team advances to the championship series however, their slate is wiped clean. Thus, when Vanderbilt beats Florida twice to advance, they will need to be beaten twice in order to be eliminated.
As someone said earlier think about it like the regionals and then the super regionals. Hitters need to help and score a bunch in order to beat FLA.

From the Tennessean: "Florida will hold back ace Hudson Randall and instead pitch left-hander Alex Panteliodis (6-2, 3.95), who started and beat the Commodores 5-0 in the SEC Tournament final and has not issued a run to them in two appearances."
