Commodores Slip to #4 in College Baseball Top 25

Virginia takes over the top spot in Baseball America's poll, with the Gamecocks climbing to 2nd after beating Vanderbilt 5-3 yesterday to take the weekend series 2-1. Oregon State climbed from 9th to 3rd, leap-frogging the Commodores, after sweeping Stanford in Palo Alto. The Gators, who lost 2-3 to Georgia in Athens dropped from 4th to 5th.

Here's a legitimate question: how can the Gators lose to a worse team than Vanderbilt did (away series for both teams), and only drop 1 spot, while the Commodores fall 3? How Does Oregon State climb so far while sweeping a team they were 8 spots ahead of in the rankings?

Hope they learn from blowing that game.

All that matters is top 8.

Worst thing that could happen to VU would have been entering the post season as the overall number one...The best teams are the ones that learn to persevere...We needed to be knocked down...This is a good time in season for it to happen....

At the end of the day...I LOVE THIS TEAM...they should go far...

We all know why they fell so far in the rankings ( comparatively) - the media's anti-Vanderbilt conspiracy. Same reason why when Vandy is winning a game in any sport, ESPN commentators always spend their time talking about how the other team is managing to lose. Jerks.
