Any speculation about JJ and the Mississippi state game???

that was a rough last 10 min - terrible shot selection, terrible passing, and really not good defense either. if we play like that against any of the real opponents in this tournament we will lose handily. i hope they step up the game tomorrow...

Thought we played well at the beginning of the second half, i was highly disappointed in our finish though. Not too worried as I'm sure Stallings was trying to see how the team would fare without Jenkins putting the team on his back. We played well without him and he will be fine. I think it was a thing to save him for when he was needed most and not risk injury. Overall, it was great to watch Jeff step up and see the verterans in Andre step up and then see the young guys continue to show signs of improvement. Lets take care of business tomorrow and get another shot to defeat Florida or Tennessee. Love a piece of either of em.

Nothing to worry about really. VU knew they were in control and tried passes and shots that they never would've if the score was close. VU was agressive up to the end, which is a good sign. Believe VU can beat MSU if they show the same intensity they did tonight.

Vandy did their job on the glass and held LSU to only 6 offensive rebounds. We also on the overall rebounding battle. LSU attempted 4 shots more than we did but that is a rather low number considering how poorly they shoot. Nothing to worry about in this game. We also had 15 turnovers, but I think that'll be an anomaly down the stretch.

From an "eye-test" perspective, I thought Jeff had a fantastic game. He played his usual great defense, and he made some great drives and cuts to the basket, where he was actually finishing. He also had a couple of nice outside pops. Finally, he did a fantastic job in transition. Tinsley also played well, as did Festus and Goulbourne.

Simply put, our offensive ineptitude game from having a lineup of Fuller, Ezeli, Walker, Goulbourne, and Odom on the floor all at the same time at one point. Do not expect to score points with that group out there.

Was it just me or did Stallings do very little coaching in this game other than substitutions? It seemed to me that he just took a step back and let the team do whatever it wanted....and it showed. I can't decide if that is really smart or really dumb. But I guess against a team as bad as LSU why not try something new?

Ha, I turned the game off at about the 10 minute mark because I thought it was basically over. Guess it sort of was, sort of wasn't. Today's game will be tougher but State is a weird team. I think Vandy rolls on.

Andre looked great in the first half...little rusty in the 2nd. The team is much more fluid when he's in the game. I hope he's "mentally" ready to step up, because I think he's the difference between a 26-5 team and a 22-9 team. Lance is a beast on the boards and deserves some serious minutes, but I think Andre is the better starter as he makes those around him better.

I think it is great to have game w/ out JJ. We need the balance - but the difference was rebounds. Putting Duffy in early second half was probably a bit premature.
