The Sportsline's Braintrust tries to keep politics out of most posts and I am an unabashed liberal. However, I am none too happy with our President today. He has picked Vandy to be upset in the 1st round for the 2nd straight year. C'Mon Mr. President????
Well at least he has UT going down in the 1st round as well. So there's that.
Caveat: This is all in good fun, so let's keep the comments for this post in keeping with that spirit.

Haven't all we Democrats learned that when Obama tells us something is going to happen, it ends up coming up short?
I'm voting for Sarah Palin in 2012.
He probably bought Richmond in his calcutta as well. You know, if gambling were legal.
I always wonder how much political pandering plays into his picks (or any other politician's for that matter). I suppose if he was really looking to curry favor in the swing states he would have picked Ohio St. or Pitt to win it all.
Virginia is a swing-state, so let's hope that explains his pick.
Clearly he isn't worried about Tennessee in 2012 as he has all 4 schools (Memphis, Belmont, UT and Vandy) losing in the first round.
The real question is how far Obama's willing to go to make his bracket a success.
Even if you discount the possibility of devious NSA game rigging, we've got a lot of international players whose student visas could "expire" just in time for the game.
Vanderbilt's line has moved to -3, so people must have been betting on us to move the line 2 points in two days.
Question: what approach should Stallings take in the pre-game pep talk? Should he just talk how Vandy has the better players and skills or should he use our last two NCAA experiences and the dissing we are getting by all far and wide as a motivational thing? What would you say to the team before and at halftime?
Pre-game I wouldn't say anything about the previous games. I would go over game plans and strategies. Haltime I would only mention it if we are down or are playing very poorly. Otherwise stay positive.
VU over looked Siena and Murray State - don't think that will happen this time. VU is battle tested and played better teams. VU by 9!
I think he's going against us because he knows how conservative our student body is relative to other fine academic institutions. I mean, let's be serious, we all know George Bush would've done the right thing and picked Vandy to win.
Where's the birth certificate?
