Great pickup with the KJ commit, but realistically I think we need at least two more guys in this class. After next year we will be very short at center and we will again be short at guard. With John potentially leaving early it would be great to get a shooting guard to play behind him for a year and get some experience. We're noticeably stacked at wing and our forwards are solid. I'm excited for this years team, really hoping Henderson can step in and play quality minutes from the start. He may end up being the most important recruit this year backing up Festus. It's going to be a great year!

Switching topics...what do ya'll think about UConn? They were hyped a little in pre-season, but lost to Temple last week. How do we stack up? Could we actually be favored??

Hmmm I doubt it just because we are the visiting team and no matter what we are 1-2. Should be an interesting game especially with 2 weeks to prepare and get healthy.

we should beat uconn especially w/ a bye week. if we don't i'd be disappointed. in fact, i'll be really disappointed if we don't end up at 3-2 going into athens to take on uga who is struggling. not that i think we come out of there w/ a W but this team can still potentially get back to bowl eligibility with UT being down, and wake looks bad. if we can win these next 2 and those 2, we're one surprise away.

With the Dores off this week, it might be a good idea to catch some of Eastern Michigan's game against Ohio State, ABC @ 2:30 central. Depending on your region, you may get UCLA and Texas, but this probably is our only chance to see the emus (actually eagles, I think) in action before they come here for a game I think even the most skeptical of us are assuming Vandy will win.

Also, a new story about Bobby Johnson in today's Tennessean: http://www.tennessean.com/article/20100925/SPORTS0602/9250340/Retirement+suits+former+Vanderbilt+coach

I agree with the above. I will be very disapointed of we are not 3-2 going into Athens. Uga fans are going nuts and the dogs are really down this year; could be a very meaningful game for both teams. If we can not win the next 2, then the Ole Miss game only proves that we need a new coaching staff, primarily replacing Kiser(OC) and Fischer(WR's). Even though the game is at Uconn, Vandy has better overall talent and should win that game. If the coaches develope our young talent and make a decision on Larry Smith; and a down SEC this year; them we should get to 6 wins. Wake, Tenn, and UGA are all struggling and are not very good this year. Go Dores !
