VSL Hotline: A Trifecta of Vanderbilt Sports Stories, Edition

Football, Men's Basketball, and Baseball all have stories worth looking at:

Starting with football, Bryan Mullen has a story in today's Tennessean about the Commodores search for a #1 Quarterback. In a troupe all too familiar to Commodore fans, the head coach, this year Robbie Caldwell, is not yet ready to name a starter. Caldwell will admit, however, that right now, Larry Smith has "the edge" over Jared Funk and JUCO transfer Jordan Rodgers. Also included in Mullen's article is the fact that Bruce Fowler has been named assistant Head Coach, a title Caldwell held under Coach Bobby Johnson.

Jeff Lockridge has a blog post about Vanderbilt's draw in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Van der bilt men's bas ket ball team will open the 2010 Puerto Rico Tip-Off against Nebraska at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 on ESPNU. Vanderbilt will get a shot at the winner of Davidson/West Virginia in the second round if they beat the mighty Cornhuskers.

Lockridge also has a piece in today's Tennessean about Mike Minor, and how he is now slated to make his first major league start Monday for the Braves against the Houston Astros.

Finally, I got this nugget that had to be shared with VSL Nation:
