Vanderbilt Gets Swept in Knoxville Doubleheader

Vanderbilt lost 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh after leading 3-2 with 2 outs. The Volunteers two-out rally began with a single by P.J. Polk which prompted Coach Corbin (who returned from his one-game suspension) to pull Taylor Hill, who was just 1 out away from the win. Grayson Garvin walked the next batter and then gave up a single, which brought home Polk on a throwing error. Drew Hayes came in and eventually hit pinch hitter Cody Grisham, forcing in the winning run. Vanderbilt drops to 9-9 in conference play. That this was the second "walk-off" run scored against the Commodores is bad enough, the fact that it was to the Volunteers makes it that much worse. Adding insult to injury, both South Carolina and Florida won their respective games/series, dropping the Commodores 3 back of the Gators and a seemingly insurmountable 5 games behind South Carolina.
