NCAA Tournament Expansion Announced

The NCAA has decided to expand the March Madness field from 65 to 68 teams. The announcement came earlier today, along with what in my mind might be even bigger news: under the new $10.8 billion (wow) deal with CBS and Turner Broadcasting, every NCAA Tournament game will be broadcast live on either CBS, TBS, TNT or truTV. (Apparently the Final Four and championship games will alternate between CBS and TBS every year.)

I for one am ecstatic about this news, especially given all the talk in recent weeks about expanding the field to 80 or 96 teams, which I think would've been a mistake. And the thought of being able to set up multiple TVs in my living room to watch every game live makes me all the more furious to be graduating from school and entering the world of real people who can't easily take Thursday and Friday off work to watch games. Which makes me wonder how much of an increase in personal days and sick days employers will witness on the first two days of the tourney beginning next year.
