Giving the Ladies Some Love

In case you've been living under a rock, the Lady Commodores aren't too shabby either, what with their #21 ranking and their 6-0 start that saw them become champions of their own Thanksgiving tournament.

The Lady Dores beat the NC State Wolfpack 77-71 to capture the crown. Merideth Marsh had 25 and was just lights out from the 3-point line. Jence Rhoads racked up 12 points as well.

It needs not be said what a fantastic job Melanie Balcomb does with this squad. Year in and year out the Commodores are competitive, and she, her program, and her players don't get nearly the respect they deserve.

So here's to y'all Commodore Women, rest assured that your work does not go unnoticed!

I think it's great but I typically focus on men's sports. Please don't talk about bowling!

Come on! Bowling is the only NCAA title we have!

Just giving a shout-out where I felt it needed to be given!

I appreciate the recognition, and think you guys should check in with the WBB team from time to time - as you noted, they're consistently a very competitive, top-25 squad and represent the university well.

One minor quibble - they don't call themselves the "Lady Commodores." Instead, they're just the "Commodores."
