Jenkins Wins 2nd Mr. Basketball Award

To absolutely no one's surprise John Jenkins repeated as the Class AA Mr. Basketball. Jenkins also won the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the year Award. Here is an excerpt from the Tennessean story about the Mr B-Ball Awards:

Jenkins repeats: Vanderbilt signee John Jenkins was already in a league of his own, leading the nation in scoring average among high school boys this season at 42.3 points.
On Saturday, the Station Camp 6-4 senior guard became the 13th player in Tennessee history to capture multiple Mr. Basketball awards.
Jenkins followed up his 2008 Class AA honor with a second trophy for 2009, beating out finalists Chase Dunn of Livingston Academy and Casey Prather of Jackson North Side.
“Coming into the season I didn’t know if that was possible, because I know how hard it is to win (Mr. Basketball),” Jenkins said. “Just the fun time I had — not just the points I had — is what I’ll remember. It was mostly about having a great season and enjoying my teammates.”

Big shout outs for him. Every time I watch him play I wonder how last year's team might have been even better with him there. I also envisioned him on this team, but Bobby pointed out to me that he would have graduated last year had he stayed.
