Is this what withdrawal feels like?

I don't know about you guys but the way the B-Ball season ended for the Commies has left me feeling rather numb and not that excited about the NCAA tournament. I'm trying to force myself into it but its slow going.

Anyway figure I would post some stuff I had been thinking about just to fight through the lethargy I'm feeling right now. First up everyone should check out Kevin Stallings interview he did on 104.5FM which is available at http://vucommodores.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/031709aaa.html.

CKS brings up some really good points. I had criticized him for not playing a tougher schedule but he shoots that down by talking about how hard it is to schedule good teams, how teams you thought were going to be good turn out to suck (Georgia Tech/ UMass) and how a tough schedule may not have helped such a young team.

Next anyone who is as into recruiting as I am need to check out http://vandysports615.blogspot.com/. Its a new recruiting blog done by Jesse Johnson who is one of the guys who runs the Vandy Rivals website http://vanderbilt.rivals.com/.

Anyway there is alot of good info there including pointing out that this weekend is one of the most important in terms of the recruiting season. Vandy hosts its Junior day this weekend and this is a chance to get a ton of prospects onto campus (the Vandy campus and Nashville in general are huge selling points to recruits). This is not only a chance to get some big names to come to Vandy for the first time but is also a chance to have our coaches evaluate the players face to face through hands on instruction instead of through game tape or watching a high school game in the stands. CBJ's staff has done a great job finding hidden talent the past few years and it all starts with events like Junior days.

Well I'm still pissed we didn't get invited to the NIT but hopefully some football recruiting news will make me feel better. I'm trying to get into Vandy baseball but its tough when you can't see any games up here in NYC.

That's it for now

still mad we're not in the NIT but let's face it. it's the NIT. i'd rather lose in the first round of the NCAAs to a 13 seed than win the NIT.

that said, now that the tourney is in full swing, i'm really excited. been some great games and my brackets are kickin ass.

Agreed I would much rather watch our team lose in round one of the NCAA BUT I really think this team needed to get some post season experience and I think we could have one 2 or 3 games in the NIT (would have loved to get them into MSG). The internet connection in my apartment sucks so watching any streaming video online is usually more frustrating then enjoyable.

I definitely agree about the withdrawal. Tournament time is a lot more fun when you have a bull in the ring. Regardless, it has been quite entertaining thus far. We've got a lot to look forward to in the near future with Vanderbilt basketball, so I guess we just need to be patient.

By the way, Pro Day is at Vanderbilt today, where DJ Moore will need to convince scouts that he is in fact a first round NFL cornerback. Even if he falls out of the first round, whoever lands him in the second gets a steal.
