Huge Game vs. Illinois Tonight

Wish I had more time to hype up this game tonight, but a 30 page paper required for me to graduate from law school looms in the distance and I've gotta finish a significant chunk if I want to watch our boys play. Seamus and Bobby no doubt are mired in a similar slump, but I can speak for the rest of us when I say that come Christmas break, there will be a great deal more coverage. (Posting Op. Eds. about Vanderbilt sports has been one of my more pleasant diversions.

Needless to say, and you can read Mo Patton's articles as well as David Boclair's article on Nashville City Paper, this is a big game for our young guys as we take on a very tough defense. Expect a low scoring match-up as Illinois hasn't exactly put up a huge point total in their first couple of games. Regardless of the outcome, it certainly will be the kind of experience this team needs before it gets deeper into the regular season.

1. Three point shooting was the difference.
2. Beal had a disappointing day.

I agree that Beal was disappointing putting the ball in the bucket, but he had a 7:1 assist to turnover ratio, which is pretty good.

Probably should have mentioned this in last post, but Festus was pretty solid.
