Matt Wilson of the Nashville City Paper's story, "Vanderbilt's Nickson Just Fine in Practice." As Coach Johnson points out however, Chris is not getting hit in practice. The good news for Vanderbilt is there doesn't appear to be a drop-off between Nickson and Adams. Still, this uncertainty is not good for the team. The way Nickson plays (and is successful) involves him getting hit. While Mississippi State's defense isn't Auburn, there is no reason to think what happened against the Tigers won't happen again this Saturday. The overwhelming majority of you think Adams should start in Starkville, and I agree.
That's not to say Mackenzi Adams should be Vanderbilt's starter from here on out - I don't think he should. As impressive as Adams was last weekend, I think Nickson is still the more dynamic of the two. However, until the coaching staff (and perhaps more importantly Nickson himself) can be sure that Chris' shoulder can withstand the contact he is sure to absorb, he shouldn't be out there.

If the game was in Baton Rouge that would be one thing, but I have to think Vanderbilt/Georgia would have the edge.

I believe we should start Adams solely because he is 100%. This will allow Chris to get another weeks rest, unless we are perfoming poorly on offense, then Chris is available. I would rather have Chris rested with an extra week of healing for the Georgia game than risk more injury agains MSU.
