Yet again Vanderbilt Sport Line is driving coverage of the Commodores. After Stanimal made the case (a disconcertingly compelling one at that) for why Vanderbilt fans should be worried that CBJ will be lured away by Clemson, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Mr. College Football and the Birmingham News' Jon Solomon write how smart Clemson would be to hire their alumnus back. For their part, Vanderbilt has "Vowed" to keep Bobby according to yesterday's Tennessean.
Mo Patton writes in today's Tennessean that "Vanderbilt Still Has a Chip on its Shoulder." It certainly didn't look like it last Saturday. With that in mind, Matt Wilson reports in today's Nashville City Paper Vanderbilt practiced in full pads yesterday for the first time since the season started. No one will say it, but it seems clear the Commodores got complacent heading to Starkville last week. That is clearly not going to be a problem this week.
Georgia is a 14.5-15 point spread right now...that certainly puts things in prospective.

My sister went to Clemson so I have been following them very closely for a number of years. I knew as soon as they got blown out by Bama in the beginning of the year that Bowden was in trouble. He recruits incredibly well yet hasn't been able to do much in an ACC that has been down for 4-5 years now. His teams are incredibly talented yet lose games they shouldn't all the time. If Vandy goes to a bowl game I think CBJ is all but gone. Clemson will prob offer him upwards of $2, 2 1/2 million a year. I really think it is going to come down to whether CBJ wants to be at Vandy or not. With the talent they get there and CBJ's ability to get the most out of people I think they can become the dominant team in that conference and win several ACC championships under CBJ.
If CBJ leaves it won't go down the way DiNardo departed. Gerry D. had 14 wins in his last 3 years in Nashville, signed a contract extension with VU then snuck out the back door to LSU...Nick Saban's mentor.
Here the deal - CBJ isn't going anywhere. He'll likely use the Clemson interest to draw up a new contract with Vandy and be done with it.
Just my opionion...I will be shocked if Clemson doesn't go after CBJ and go after him hard. I would open the bank to get him if I were them. The moment he goes there, they become a legitimate power. He along with Paul Johnson at tech will run roughshod through the ACC. He will knock the lid off that program instantly with the amount of talent they have on campus (reminds me of what Richt inherited when Donnan got canned). Simply put, I believe CBJ is one of the finest coaches in the country. Top 12 or so.
About the UGA/Vandy spread...I'll be shocked if the game is more than one score one way or the other.
oops..opinion.
agree w/ bop. Vandy/UGA has been real close the last two years and w/ Vandy's secondary and the injury ridden UGA O-line I expect a very close game. If Adams can get an offense going I think we have a very good shot at this one.
nothing since wednesday!! it's friday before a huge game! where's the chatter?
I'm hearing Lane Kiffin is Clemson's #1 target...
Not that I am in any way close to the situation. But I throw that out there to be confirmed / discussed / shredded, as appropriate.
