VSL Hotline: Schedule Released, Edition

Despite being the eve of a rather large football game, we're going to start with the 2008-2009 Basketball Schedule being released. Vanderbilt's got a ton of games on TV, including 6 nationally televised games. Mo Patton's got a recap in today's Tennessean. Tickets are still available. I just got my two for me and the bride to be (and boy is she excited).

Moving to football, there has been a lot of movement on the line over the week, but as of this publication the line ranges from 8 to 8.5 with an over/under of 59.

Mo's got a story in today's Tennessean highlighting the "similarities" between Vanderbilt and Rice on and off the field.

The Man We Love to Hait's got a profile of Jared Hawkins in today's Nashville City Paper.

Double-dipping, Brett's got a "What to Watch For" in today's City Paper.

Mike Minor was named the "Top Summer League Player" for his work with Team USA. Congratulations, Mike.

Unfortunately, Bobby will not be in attendance tomorrow. I promise I have a good excuse and will certainly be following along either via ESPN.com or squirreled away in a corner somewhere with internet access and speakers.

Bobby, OUT.

You forgot to mention the new Nike uniforms. I thought they were awful when UF and Syracuse were wearing them last year, but have learned to stop worrying and love them.

Isn't it Mike Minor? Is Matt now an acceptable nickname for Michael? Is my head spinning? They blew it all up! Damn them... DAMN THEM ALL!

Long drives will be the key. Rice should not be able to stop the running game. A considerable time of possession advantage is important.
