From the Man Himself: Vanderbilt Lands another Big Committment in Basketball

The Man we Love to Hait just sent an email to the newsroom because our intern failed to catch another story (it's so hard to find good help). Being the kind of guy he his, Brett didn't want the VSL Nation to miss the fac that Vanderbilt signed Steve Tchiengang, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Montverde (Fla.) Academy, yesterday. According to the story in today's City Paper, "Tchiengang is Rivals.com's 81st best player nationally, and the 20th best power forward in America."

Big thanks to Brett for making sure we got this out there. Even though football is the focus right now in Commie Nation, there is reason to be excited about Vanderbilt Basketball's future.

Back to Civ Pro.

Get excited Commie Faithful, because we just found our bruiser to go with Croc-OG underneath.

ESPN has Tchiengang ranked as the number 55 prospect in the nation and the #16 power forward prospect. The scouts grade him out at an 89 overall.

6-8, 230 got good touch from the outside too but gets boards very well. This is extremely exciting.

This is awsome. This guy along with Festivus is a great start to putting back to back impressive recruting classes together. Don't think we can get many other guys though because we signed so many this year. Anyone know how many scholarships a team can have? We have 5 guys this year and 2 next year (festivus is getting red shirted)

None whatsoever. Think Woody Allen in "Take the Money and Run," only very good at basketball.
