I guess we're stuck at 3...

Derrick Byars dropped out of the first round. I really don't know how this happened, although I am looking forward to reading Brett Hait's explanation in tomorrow's City Paper.

Seattle, Boston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Seattle again are the first 5 picks in the second round. Unless its Boston, those are all not bad places to end up.

I DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY. THIS IS FUCKING INSANE.

Josh McRoberts will be better than Oden or Durant... huge steal in the second round.

First of all, let me say I can't believe Byars lasted until 42. He'll be on the all rookie team if he gets some significant minutes with Philly (bank on that). As a Sixers fan, I was yelling from pick #21, #30, #38, and #42 for them to draft Byars (as well as demanding they trade up to get him once they picked Cook--then traded him--at #21). Did none of these scouts watch college basketball this year? It seems they're more content to pick foreign guys they have no intention of bringing over, leaving them in the de-facto minor leagues of Europe. Why? I honestly can't tell you.

Most second round picks by NBA teams don't pan out, so it's viewed as a better business strategy to draft foreign guys in the second round who they can leave over there for a year to develop, as opposed to taking a player that won't neccessarily make the roster.

I'm positive that the McBob comment was sarcastic, so I'm laughing right now that it was even uttered.

This sucks for Byars because he doesn't get guaranteed money, but it's also good because as I said, the pressure's not on him right away. He'll be just fine in Philly, but the concern I have is that the Sixers have Igoudala and Thaddeus Young at the Small forward position, which means that D-Byars is going to have to play the 2 more likely than not. It just seems like a lot of competition in order to distinguish himself.

I just want to be ceratain everybody knows that is not me...the "american idol sucks" poster.

McRoberts might make an NBA roster and sit on the bench. He will never sniff an all-star game.
