Hotline: O'Toole O-dition

Listen up clones: I'm not going to give the breadth and depth of coverage that Bobby O'Shea tends to give because, well, I just don't feel like it. Sue me. Phe--nomenal (and other four-syllable words).

So we all know by now that David Price went #1 in the MLB draft to the D-Rays and that Casey Weathers went #8 to the Rockies. "Denver - georgeous." Click these links to see how the Amherst Daily (Canada) and the Pueblo Chieftain (Colorado) covered those picks. VUCommodores.com has a good spread about them too. For a long list of cliched "Price is Right" headlines, click here.

More important than any of that nonsense is the fact that Bobby, Stanimal and myself have been interviewed by the guys at Roll 'Bama Roll about the outlook for Vandy's football team this year. They did a great job previewing the Commies and we're honored that they felt our opinions worthy of publication. Clearly that's a sentiment not widely shared so I'm stoked about the self-esteem boost heading into the weekend.

In other news, Scout.com has an impressively uninteresting interview with defensive end prospect John Burrow about his decision to go to Vanderbilt. Much more interesting is Brett Hait's bit about Va. Tech tight end Brandon Barden being cleared to transfer to Vandy. I'd be willing to bet that the NCAA grants him an exemption from the normal one-year wait and gives him eligibility for this season. Assuming that happens, I GUARANTEE Barden is starting ahead of Brad Allen by mid-season if not sooner. Someone write a comment to challenge me on it. Please. Someone tell me I'm wrong.

O'Toole is burning. OUT.

Piss poor hotline though.

Surprisingly enough, Stanimal was not actually dead to me until now.

If I was a newspaper writer my headline for the draft would have been "In Surprise Bob Barker goes #1 overall"

I love being dead to the other writers

Are we going to get a Mah Freeman hotline edition? In honor of his matrimonial bliss I would like to slander his good name. The kid tries to pull off being both a New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons fan......whats up with that?

This is true. Freeman was a vehement supporter of the Saints when we got to Vanderbilt as freshmen. Then the Falcons had two good years and he turncoated. Now he claims both. Unacceptable considering we are division rivals.
