Well, that was fun

After posting the third-largest all-time margin of victory for a #6 seed or lower in a 77-44 spanking of the not-so-sharp Colonials of GW, it's time to be looking ahead to Wazzu (5:40pm EST on Saturday).

The Cougars of Washington State will be a major test for the Commies, and beating them in Pac-10 country would be no small feat. But it looked to me like the week of practice in between the SEC Tournament and yesterday's game paid dividends for the Dores, and the fact that our starters were resting at the end of the game (while Wazzu had a closely fought battle against #14 Oral Roberts) may play somewhat to our advantage as well.

Before I move on to doing very little work and tracking games on my computer, I have to give a shout out to #32 Shan "The Truth" Foster, whose electric performance (18 points on 7 of 14 shooting and 2 monster blocks in just 27 minutes of action) gives me the sense that this team, who actually played like a team for the first time in a while, has a real shot to make a run. If we can keep up the defensive pressure and the ball movement on offense, we have a great shot to beat Washington State. A preview of that matchup will be available soon.

(By the way, I've said it before and I'll say it again: George Drake - 2009 SEC Player of the Year. You heard it here first.)

George Drake is going to be a STUD when he matures and gets a full time role.
