Alvarez National Hitter of the Week

Pedro Alvarez, who holds down the hot corner for the Commie's, was named as Pro-Line Cap National Hitter of the Week by The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). The sophomore, as mentioned in a previous post, hit .500 with two doubles, a triple, and one home run. He also accounted for 5 RBI's in Vanderbilt's impressive sweep at the Houston College Classic. He and David Macias were named to the All-Tourney team.

This is Alvarez's second time receiving National Player of the Week honors during his two year career at Vandy.
