I want to play on ...I don't care when we play. I want to play on Saturdays. And the other thing is, I want to play on Saturdays and I want to see some d*!n fans in the seats. Vandy fans. This is a big city. Bigger than most if not all of the SEC school cities. I know the school is smaller, but there are people that live here that still cheer on Vandy and say they pull for them. If this team continues to get better, and with the recruits we are getting this should happen, we should start to get some support. I am tired and I've been tired of being out numbered at my own stadium. 28 years now and counting. I can't recall one big game that we had more fans than the other big SEC school. Maybe Auburn last year. Maybe. That's as close as it gets. But once you got to the right of the student section, all Auburn fans. We need to start shutting these people out. I am commmitted and I always have been and will be. But it is time. It's time for us to sell out the Western Carolina game full of Vandy fans. It's time for students to show up even when on break because they want to see the team that badly. It's time to beat Georgia and Ole Miss to sell out crowds wearing black and gold. It's time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640778288989151924.post-57456036553452154442009-07-26T09:56:36.142-05:002009-07-26T09:56:36.142-05:00I completely agree with Seamus. Say what you want...I completely agree with Seamus. Say what you want about SEC snobbery, but we're not like other SEC schools. We need all the exposure that we can get, and if playing on Thursday nights is what it takes to broadcast our games nationally, then so be it.

Say what you want about the tenets of national socialism dude, at least its an ethos.Stanimalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06068492073488859014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640778288989151924.post-88439955133205428742009-07-24T09:44:52.541-05:002009-07-24T09:44:52.541-05:00Daag-- Despite my JV football comment, I happen to...Daag-- Despite my JV football comment, I happen to agree 100% on the Thursday-night game theory. It's interesting that there seems to be resistance to it. If you're near Nashville and are attending every game, I guess I can understand that you want your 6-8 Saturday experiences a year. But as a way to get your name out there -- maybe most importantly by being guaranteed some air on Friday SportsCenter -- you cannot argue with what teams like VaTech and Louisville have done by scheduling Thursday-nighters. I'm not sure that with one winning season since 1982 we're in a great position to turn up our noses and play the "SEC is 'above' Thursday nights" card.Seamus O'Toolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11811017078765515449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640778288989151924.post-23126377722776205552009-07-23T18:57:05.955-05:002009-07-23T18:57:05.955-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Douglas Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09239502832772753923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640778288989151924.post-37342839974298188442009-07-23T18:57:04.952-05:002009-07-23T18:57:04.952-05:00Wow I got shut down on that theory. Also would love to see Vandy play more thursday night games, its a great way to get exposure since there is less competition on tv. Va Tech has used it for years being on Nat'l TV by itself every thursday night.Douglas Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09239502832772753923noreply@blogger.com
