Festus will not play until Vandy takes on Xavier on November 28th. That includes our participation in the Legends Classic and any match-up against either NC State or Texas, which hopefully it will be Texas.
While this is far from a crushing blow to the Commodores incredibly anticipated 2011 campaign, this isn't a welcome distraction for a team that has a history of mental toughness issues. Given the uncertainty surrounding Steve Tchiengang's injury (he should be back by the first game of the year, but that is unclear) a lot will be riding on Redshirt Freshman Josh Henderson. Regardless, this team is going to have to learn to overcome adversity anyway if it's going to achieve the heights that many think it can, and maybe this will be a good way to start (and perhaps get Jeff Taylor warmed up for a solid year-long run).

Yep - pretty bone headed. They won't have to worry about him fouling out.
Reason for suspension?
Accepting hotel and meal from Alum. I like it. Alum are buying into the program. These are signs of a legit ncaa team. All the good ones have some type of violation. Naive I'd you think otherwise.
