In Case You Missed It

Ann Killion of SI.com had a nice article on Friday about the Cal baseball team and how their storybook season has played out under the threat of the program's extinction.

On Sunday night, about 24 hours after Vanderbilt beat Oregon State, the Golden Bears punched their ticket to Omaha by downing Dallas Baptist.

When Cal was on the brink just weeks ago, many of you in VSL Nation showed the love by sending a contribution or words of support westward.  Ultimately, through their massive campaign and with the help of some big-swinger Berkeley alums, Cal baseball was rescued.  Two months later, Vandy and Cal are two of just eight teams with a shot at the CWS title.

Good times.

When there's no more room in the budget, THE DEAD WILL WALK THE EARTH. =)

Honestly, you couldn't sell this story to Hollywood. Too implausible. If I understand the bracket, the only way we meet is in the final series...which will have an interesting impact on our household...
