Vanderbilt ends the regular season at 44-9, with a 22-8 record in conference. The Commodores lead 6-0 heading to the bottom of the 6th. The Bulldogs added 4 runs in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to take a 7-6 lead. Vanderbilt then opened the offensive flood gates, plating 11 runs in the 8th and 9th to win the game 17-7. Vanderbilt will now have to wait for the conclusion of the Kentucky/Florida game to see where they will be seeded in the SEC Tournament. If Florida wins, the Commodores will be a #4 seed in Hoover and take on #5 Georgia in the opening round of the SEC Tournament. If Florida loses, the Commodores will be a #3 seed, and face a to be determined #6 team.
Congratulations, Tim Corbin and the rest of the 2010-11 Commodores...but y'all have work left to do.
