#2 Vanderbilt Beats #1 South Carolina; Advance to Saturday of SEC Tournament

The Commodores clung to a 3-2 lead through 8 when Tim Corbin pushed all the right buttons, and his team executed to perfection (except for Westlake's pop-up bunt that ended with Westy at first) in the top of the 9th. Vanderbilt plated 4 runs on a squeeze-bunt, a hit and run, another squeeze, and a base-knock. Final score: Vanderbilt 7 South Carolina 2. Sonny Gray was great, throwing 6 1/3 innings, while allowing just 1 earned run.

Vanderbilt will take on the winner of Arkansas/Alabama Saturday at 9:30 am. With a win, Vanderbilt advances to the Tournament Championship; a loss and the Commodores will get another shot at either the Razorbacks or the Tide later Saturday, with the winner advancing.
