Vanderbilt Wins 87-81; Advances to SEC Semis to face the Gators

John Jenkins exploded for 20 points in the second half, with 29 overall. Jeffery Taylor was also fantastic, adding 20 points including 3 big buckets down the stretch.

Glad to see that UT (and I use the U in that abbreviation with some hesitation) lost. Hate those guys.

that was just a great game - a bit of a defensive struggle for us, but stepped up huge just like i willed us to do :) i knew we had to hit 80 pts to pull it off, and we did! now we get our florida revenge... go dores!!!

Nice to push it to +80 points. Best tournament game in several years. Pearl's last SEC tournament!

outrebounded by 10. i looked at minutes played for the team and i'm wondering if stallings is trying to rest people a little bit so they can be ready for the next game. lance only played 17 minutes (though he did get into foul trouble in the first half) and festus only played 20. i also felt like steve played a little more than normal. if that was what stallings decided was the best thing to do, i'm good with it considering vandy got the win and it would make sense that vandy was outrebounded with festus and lance not getting a lot of PT.

festus and lance were both in foul trouble, so i think that likely had a lot to do with their low minutes. also, neither looked that effective against msu, though lance put up a huge first couple of minutes, and came up clutch with that three near the end.

either way, we played a great game - looking forward to the florida revenge...
