This will have to do for now...

Here are links to my preview when Vanderbilt took on Mississippi State in January, and my "thoughts" after we defeated them 81-74 in Starkville. After a cursory glance at Mississippi State since then, I'm not sure much has changed. The Bulldogs are 7-4 since that games, including wins over Florida, and at Tennessee (two nuts the Commodores have been unable to crack so far this year). They've won 4 of their last 5, with the sole loss coming at home to LSU 84-82 (thanks for the note anonymous).

Call me crazy, but I'm not as worried about State now as I was when the bracket was finalized Sunday.

Also, this is the best picture ever (h/t Anonymous 11:56 pm)

They lost 84-84?

Must have been that crappy SEC officiating that decided the outcome.

VU needs to win this game to maintain at least a 6 seed.

Alarmists be warned: Vanderbilt is currently slated as 5 seed by both ESPN's Joe Lundari and SI.com's Andy Glockner. Seems more accurate to say if Vanderbilt loses today, they'll probably end up as a 6 seed, not below.

VU will win easily without JJ as they wont need him.
